11. Dr. Marshall Korenblum and the Stages of Adolescence
In this episode, I speak with Dr. Marshall Korenblum who has worked for over 40 years as a community-based child and adolescent psychiatrist and researcher.
In this episode we speak about
- The stages of adolescence
- How to engage a teen by appealing to their need for acceptance and autonomy
- Stigma and building mental health literacy
- How to support teens as they develop their identity and their values
He condenses his experience and expertise into some great phrases, analogies and frameworks–and if you’ve listened to this podcast before, you likely know I love a good framework. I found this episode incredibly helpful for understanding teens and where they are developmentally and I am sure you will too.
